I doubt whether Lee Kuan Yew can last 5 seconds in Taiwan political arena.
They will finish him off cleanly.
I think Lee Kuan Yew is quite worthless as a politician.
This may explain why he avoids open political debate.

Police arrest former Singaporean for insulting public servant

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a former Singaporean for the offence of "threatening, abusing or insulting a public servant".In response to media queries, police confirmed that Gopalan Pallichadath Nair, who is now a US citizen, was arrested at Broadway Hotel along Serangoon Road on Saturday.
A warrant of arrest without bail was granted by the courts for the arrest.
Nair is alleged to have sent an email to the Attorney-General and the Solicitor-General which contained statements amounting to the offence of insulting a public servant.
The statements were directed against Justice Belinda Ang, a Supreme Court judge. The statements were also posted on Nair's blog.
Nair is presently in police custody. He will be charged in court on Monday.

Tsk tsk...and what is the result of tawanese politics? When all its competitors experienced economic growth when times werre good in the past few years, its economy was in the doldrums. Their politicians were far too busy bickering in parliament to care about the economy.

he is a international lawyer and now comes to the pore and openly declare that.I would think he is aware of what he is doing and the repercussions he may get.
Thus, I am convinced that he is ready knowing the system and the people.

however well versed he is with the law, he, of all people, should know that it is the `singapore law' that he is dealing with. i don't think he stands a chance.

unless you know him personally, it's hard to deduce that he's well versed in law. even so, what type of law? you can give him credit for being familiar with the political happenings here, and no doubt he's armed to the brim on his grouses. that's about it.
in some ways, one salutes him for taking the chance to try to create some chinks and dents in lky's armor, others may think he is a fool for taking such uncalculated risk.
i still think the best time to take on the MIW is post-lky. now, just `tong....'

Gopalan was a WP candidate in 1988 and 1991. He tried to help JBJ by collecting donation but he was stopped by the police. He fled to USA and studied Law and he is now a US citizen. He tried to run down LKY in his blog because LKY procecuted many dissidents who were in opposition politics. Now he is a blogger and he is challeging lKY to catch him. He claimed that the court is biased towards opposition. My personal view is that we have no freedom in politics when you oppose the regime. LKY is a dictator, every body knows abt it. You can't oppose him at all. But reading the declassified statement by the British, you will know that LKY is a coward.
