I wonder why the police was involved if it was a defamation suit.
Surely when I submit a writ, I don't expect the police to go over to the defendant's house and arrest him.

4.G Nair may miscalculated SG fast action and criminal case
He may think AG and SG only read the mails on Monday,
by then he will be on the plane home.
He may think LKY just take civil action.It takes time and
can only serve writ of summons on him when he is
back on US.He just said,

As the Lees know, I am a lawyer practicing in Fremont California and a member of the California Bar. My question to Lee Kuan Yew and his son is this. Are you going to stand by your threat and sue me for defamation as well? I am presently physically within your jurisdiction and the jurisdiction of your kangaroo courts. Are you going to going to send your process server to me with your writ of summons? Or are you, as expected, all talk and no action, when you meet those not afraid of you, just as how a petty street thug would behave?

Gopalan challenged LKY to sue him for defamation to what he posted on his blog.
They couldn't charge him with defamation, so they decided to charge him with insulting a public servant.
What's next? They going to charge him for jaywalking, littering, not flushing toilet to make up for the defamation suit?
Maybe they can find fault with him in tax evasion. Wait a minute, he's a US citizen so he doesn't have income in Singapore. So one has to question whether what he said on the blog was true. Afterall someone did said if lies are not pursued in a court, then it has the essence of being the truth.

Why do Lees not sue G Nair for defamation ,now?
It takes time to initiate action and cant stop him from leaving SG,
scheduled in these two days,according to his blog.

3.G Nair never think of criminal prosecution
In his 31 May morning blog,most likely the last blog before his arrest,
he just mention defamation suit.
He just think that the most Lees can do would serve him
a Writ of Summon or lawyers letter in the hotel,demanding him
retract his statement unconditionally and apology
in STimes etc.Even this happen,he stil can board the
plane and show the letters in LA airports to western medias.
If G Nair gets letter from Lees lawyers,he would send e mails to
western medias before he board the plane.
4.Mistakes of G Nair
Zaobao and STimes reportered that he sent e mails to AG and SG.
I think at least AG has the power to decide if gavaman to prosecute or not.

Nair just dunt know the SG judiciary system improved a lot since
he left.Prosecute fast and trial fast.Justice delay is justice denied!
Many back logs were cleared under the almight CJ Yong,
buddy of LKY.Have u seen LKY couple had dinner openly
with his friends?CJ Yong was one of very few.
Nair left SG in early 1990's,after he got defamation suit in 1991
and fined 8k and legal cost of 13,000.
S$21,000 can buy him almost half of a 4- room HDB (90 m2)flat then.
He just cant understand the current effeciency of SG judiciary sys.

Oh sorry for the sidetrack....He's fled for the States back in 1991 to escape a defamation suit brought upon by LKY and now he's coming back to do the same? Wouldn't he have considered that Senor Lee could do one notch better now?
Surely given the iron grip and unscrupulous political nature of LKY, a police charge of "insulting a public servant" to slap him a fine or throw him into jail, that wouldn't be too hard to think of, would it?

I think LKY doesn't have facts to win his defamation suit against him, that's why he has to resort to charging him on insults to public servants, next will be jaywalking, littering, talking in public, not flushing toilet after use.
I think as the years weighs down on him, his testicles once descended during his teenage years has ascended back to whence it came from.
