then the following:
******I repeat, if there are questions with the polls, with a free press and democratic freedoms, the opposition would have asked it and the press would have reported it widely ( if the press did not question it themselves).
The do not fear arrests by despots, unlike in some countries or being sued for asking questions and questioning the wrong asshole/s.
"the phone-in by ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra did not run into any interference from the government" says it all.
Thaksin would be the first to question it. If he did not, why should anyone?******
may not be true as generally polls are pretty insignificant to generate a substantial reaction unless it is positive to the subject.
I repeat, there is no fear for any interested parties in Thailand to question the polls results and as far as I know, Abac is widely regarded as a professional organisation.
Otherwise, for a newpaper to report their poll results, it would bring disrepute to the newspaper that reports it.
In Thailand, nobody gets the police to arrest people or sue people for demafamation for asking cursed assholes the "wrong" questions .
There are many respectable organisations with questionable poll results, more so if they are conducted online. Poll results not being questioned does not mean that they are conducted appropriately to reflect the views of the population. With that i would like to add that at this point in time I'm not comparing polls in Thailand and Singapore but polls in general. Whatever i wanted to say about my thoughts about polls in Thailand, i have said.
Thai English news organisations that reported the poll results:

"What we've got here is failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach...
So, you get what we had here last week,
which is the way he wants it!
Well, he gets it!
N' I don't like it any more than you men." *
Look at your young men fighting
Look at your women crying
Look at your young men dying
The way they've always done before
Look at the hate we're breeding
Look at the fear we're feeding
Look at the lives we're leading
The way we've always done before
My hands are tied
The billions shift from side to side
And the wars go on with brainwashed pride
For the love of God and our human rights
And all these things are swept aside
By bloody hands time can't deny
And are washed away by your genocide
And history hides the lies of our civil wars
D'you wear a black armband
When they shot the man
Who said "Peace could last forever"
And in my first memories
They shot Kennedy
I went numb when I learned to see
So I never fell for Vietnam
We got the wall of D.C. to remind us all
That you can't trust freedom
When it's not in your hands
When everybody's fightin'
For their promised land
And
I don't need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
I don't need your civil war
Look at the shoes your filling
Look at the blood we're spilling
Look at the world we're killing
The way we've always done before
Look in the doubt we've wallowed
Look at the leaders we've followed
Look at the lies we've swallowed
And I don't want to hear no more
My hands are tied
For all I've seen has changed my mind
But still the wars go on as the years go by
With no love of God or human rights
'Cause all these dreams are swept aside
By bloody hands of the hypnotized
Who carry the cross of homicide
And history bears the scars of our civil wars
"We practice selective annihilation of mayors
And government officials
For example to create a vacuum
Then we fill that vacuum
As popular war advances
Peace is closer" **
I don't need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
And I don't need your civil war
I don't need your civil war
I don't need your civil war
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
I don't need your civil war
I don't need one more war
I don't need one more war
Whaz so civil 'bout war anyway
Their new album is pretty crap
In Thailand, the recent "civil war", at least, was generally civil. That is mainly because in their schools and universities, they are taught democracy instead of propaganda.
I certainly hope their schools didn't teach them that removing elected governments in succession by force is democratic.
duh! removing despots out to destroy democracy is definitely democratic. Otherwise Thailand would be Thailack like Singapore is Sillipore.
Removing "despots" by force in a supposedly democratic country that conducted elections democratically is democratic ? Forcefully removing "despots" detested by the wealthy in Bangkok but loved by the rural folks democratic ?

I've got a question for you: What is your definition of "democracy?"

The people choose the government and the government that wins power does not subsequently arrest dissidents and persecute opposition, control the judiciary to serve the party in power, the police, the press and the army to serve the party in power. This is democracy.
Thaksin was heading in that direction and he had to go and his puppets had to go.
The present Thai prime minister has such high approval ratings because among other things, his government did not stop Thaksin from making his phone in to his supporters.
Compare Thaksin trying to muzzle and control the press in Thailand and compare this honorable Thai prime minister allowing pro Thaksin newspapers and televisions to continue printing and broadcasting whatever they like.
...and yes, allow Thaksin's supporters to protest in the streets without harassment.
If what happened in Thailand was democratic, then i must say that it is not for me.

Democratic as in a vote of no-confidence forcing the ruling party out of power, not via a military coup or putsch.

Didn't Thailand just had a military coup to oust the despotic Thaksin and restored democracy?
There is no rigid "right solution". The "right solution" depends on the circumstances.
As you can see from the Singapore example. The whole parliament is packed with dogs and how will there be a no confidence vote?

So far, I can see you are a dog for Dr CSJ. Come on, there must be a better political alternative than CSJ.
If a political party came to power by force, whether popularly supported or not, it is not democracy. The people thus cannot choose if they want the party in power to be their leader or somebody else.
The Thais were lucky that the military leaders choose to relinquish power after a period. Else it would be a military junta like Cambodia/Kampuchea.

How can I be his dog when I have not even met him (as in introduced to him)? I am for his cause and like I said, you have tunnel vision, you cannot see the truth, and what needs to be done first. What Dr Chee is trying to do, his cause, is what needs to be done first.

Extremism. I'm not living in Thailand in the first place.

When will this ever end ?
Let's see what comes out of the threat by the REDS this weekend. There is not much justification for them to do it. I doubt that anything much will come out of it.
What is important is that they be allowed to protest, peacefully, or else Thailand will become another Singapore, run by despots, taking massive amounts of public money while they damage the economy.
The continue impasse within Thailand reflect one aspect of Democratic society.
When a society enjoyed certain rights and freedoms. You cannot back track democratic process by imposing military coup on a democratic elected govt. Even though if the elected official is/was corrupted. The due course should have been thru legal proceeding to impeach the President.
Although the coup was approved by the King, but the civilian population would felt that their rights were taken away abruptly. And it “is” not acceptable for a military to dictate a civil govt. And all forward elections could not be convincing enough because supporters view it as cynical, supported by both the king and military even though process was legal.
What makes the matter worst was the “Previous” newly appointed govt was not well organized and lack the moral authority to govt because because Thaksin was ousted by military when he was in the United Nation. The newly formed govt took too long a time to bring convince evident of Thaksin corruption to Trial all Evident were view as hypocrisy. Supporters were willing to turn the other side willing to forgive Thaksin.
Therefore this is a very lousy statement coming from you.....because you sounded exactly like LKY.
There is no rigid "right solution". The "right solution" depends on the circumstances.
Politician change their principle of democracy after they are in power. You are willing to forego the basic principle of a democratic system of peaceful power transition.
Let them protest. As long as it is peaceful, they can protest all they want. It will peter out. They have no good justification and will not have the support like the PAD.
