it was a funny sight!!! i remember tat within a few minutes, saliva was dripping from the tip of his tongue...the student had to constantly wipe off the saliva from his chin...by then many of us were giggling at him...even the teacher laughed at wad she saw...yet despite the 'sufferings', the teacher sternly ordered the student to keep his tongue stuck out...she then ordered the rest of the class to keep silent...
the student was finally released from his 'sufferings' after abt another 5min...by then, there were tears in his eyes...it was obvious his tongue felt dry n tired..the teacher onli released him after making him promise nt to make faces at his classmates again...i remember the teacher warning him tat if he did such a thing again, she would punish him even more severely...
well, the punishment did prove effective for a long while but its always hard for old habits to die which we shall see in my next post... -

1stly, terrible english...haha...anyway how long were u punished??? man making a sec 1 student pull ears is very embarrassing...but stil ok lah, nt as embarrassing as my classmate mentioned in the 1st post of tis thread...sec 2 n had to slap himself in front of whole class... -

if this is really a true story, this teacher could have long been expelled.. this punishment abit too harsh..
nowadays parents treat their kids like PEARL!!! i used to be frm ncc last time.. when i first joined, i kana whack like nobody business.. crawl on tar roads, 'su ga su ga' knock it down... when i bcum the cadet officer, i cant whack anymore... the teacher officer say only during PT session den can do push-up... if not the kids go back complain, the parents will blame on the teachers.. if the teaches really care for the kids welfare, then why no one bother bout us, when we initially join?? we kana punish, they knew it, they saw it, but they farking dun care.. but if u look ard, if anyone following? npcc, BB still anyhow punish their cadets wad.. -

man tats rather long...isnt tat until the end of assembly??? u must have had tired legs at the end of it...to me, the punishment is very harsh...plus u had to endure embarrassment for 45min...was theteacher someone who would punish students like tat for toking during assembly??? -

its not a matter of how harsh but a matter of reason and wot the student learns from the punishment -
problem is.. the teachers punish for enjoyment.. abuse of authority.. if the second time, they also punish at the recess, lunch time and after school. -

if we are punished in the recess, we will stand along the corridor and pull the ears. If the whole class are punished in the recess, we will stand in the classroom and pull the ears. If we are punished after school, it is very embrassed. this one is when im sec 2..it happened to my friend
the teacher is teaching and my friend try to joke on every thing the teacher say thn i was like beside laughing like siao.After that,the teacher like "EH U CAN STOP IT ANOT!!!!!"
Thn throw his textbk from the front of the classroom to the back then throw his marker to my friend.The marker hit my friend..well not hit la..only like tipped abt on his nose...then my friend pretend tht the marker kana his nose v hard and lie tht its bleeding.
Friend: (covers nose with hand)"walao!bleeding sia!"
teacher: (guilty look)"ur problem la who ask u so naughty.."
then my friend asked me loudly so the teacher can hear

anyway, reading ur posts reminds me of the teacher who taught me health education in primary 1(read my earlier posts)...she also mete out embarrassing punishments, but she is much more creative...nt all her punishments r embarrassing onli...some can be rather tiring n painful...
the problem wif giving thesame punishment all the time is tat it will eventually become too common...students will 'get use' to it after a while, hence causing the punishment to have no more effect... -
Today I saw 2 people who talked with each other they are punished by their teacher pull their own ears and copy " I should not talk in the lesson." 100 times. They are secondary 4 students. Their face is very likeable when they are punished.

hey matthew i am very curious to noe which sch u r in...care to share wif us?? it seems to me tat the teachers in ur sch r realli boring when it comes to punishments...everything also pull ears...but to do tat to sec 4 students...hmmm...kinda degrading...is tis the same teacher who punished u??

my school is veri strict when it comes to discipline

the old method is disatrous, training a batch of SINGAPOREANS who don't know how to open out their mouth and juz obey the govt. -

i think your school disclipine failed. worst of all the "punishments" your teacher took aganist your friend is not even harsh.
its because of people/students like your friends, who creates troubles for teachers. your friend should fan xing fan xing.
