I am in consideration as to take what type of finance degrees and need some help here.
Any veteran in the finance industry can give me advice?
I am considering SIM local and global degrees (mainly UOL)
Would like to know the job prospects in terms of the following degrees.
In terms of:
a) career opportunity for a fresh grad in the degree
b) Career advancement
c) What type of charactor/Skills would be needed (E.g analytical, focused...etc)
d) Salary
These are the following offered by SIM:
1) UniSIM Finance
2) UOL Finance and Econs
3) UOL Accounting & Finance
4) UOL Banking and Finance
5) UOL Business
6) UOL Econs and management
I plan to work part time and study part time. Got a job offer with a
independent finance company dealing with personal, corporate finance.
Was told I would have to start with the basics which is insurance sales,
have to take M5, M8 and Health insurance.
Would that be a good start to add to my CV?
thanks!
Also saw PSB offers UOL part time, whats the diff with that offered by SIM?
Also is Kaplans Murdoch or Northeastern University worth considering?
Alot of UOL grads become teachers for MOE.
My suggestion is to get top grades whatever degree you choose. However u must not be too optimistic about getting a job. Be realistic.
Good luck!
I realise most of the time MOE only recognise certs from prestigious degrees.
Would like to hear some feedback of people who graduated from UOL out there in the job market. Did u study at PSB or SIM?

I have a few frens graduated with UOL degrees....02 joined MOE as teachers and 01 currently studying a master degree....What I heard from them was not very optimistic. They couldn't get any fresh grad jobs....maybe because they had poor grades....All of them from SIM.
